Based in Wellington, the creative capital of New Zealand, Cassels Design is a bespoke furniture business founded by local craftsman Andrew Cassels.

Working from his studio in the woods above Wellington Harbour Andrew produces unique designs which draw on his passion for furniture-making, contemporary design and attention to detail.

In the next 18 months Cassels Design will progressively release a range of unique designs beginning with the Composite Stool (photo above).

The Composite Stool was inspired by a desire to branch away from wood and explore the capabilities of steel. It resulted in the harmonious melding of a 4mm folded steel seat atop hardwood legs (which can be flat-packed for delivery and assembled with an Allen key).

All of Cassels Design products are personally created by Andrew who hand-crafts the wooden components and oversees the metal components manufacturing.
